St. Tim's Altar & Flower Guild

Altar Guild

The altar guild at St. Timothy's is comprised of a group of dedicated women (and often the husbands join in to keep them company) who work hard at presenting the best linens and silver to serve at the Holy Eucharist. They work prior to the services, between services, and after the services. Their work is center stage at each Holy Eucharist and yet the Altar Guild's chores go on quietly in the background.

Flower Guild

Flower Guild members decorate the church for Sunday services, weddings, funerals, and special services.  Flowers are usually donated in memoriam or in thanksgiving as recorded in the church bulletin.

Each member is normally responsible for one month each year.  However, everyone tries to be on hand to help with major events such as Christmas, Easter, and weddings.  For regular Sunday services, the member assigned will check with the family donating the flowers to see what they have in mind.  She will then purchase the flowers and arrange them, usually on Saturday.

Eucharistic Ministers

St. Timothys' Eucharistic Ministers are capable and experienced volunteers who have committed themselves to assisting the Priest with the administration of the Blessed Sacrament. Licensed by the Bishop at the request of the Rector, their roles involve administering the Chalice. Other ministers, known as Eucharistic Visitors, are licensed to administer the Holy Communion to those unable to attend church.

Ushers & Oblationers Needed!

Oblationers take the wine and bread to the altar at the offertory. The ushers are now doing this before they gather the monetary offering.

Ushers/oblationers typically work in pairs, although one person can actually handle this chore. Before the Eucharist begins, the ushers also hand out bulletins to those entering the nave.
